Drabek to face Phillies tomorrow

The Phillies will face former top pitching prospect, Kyle Drabek, tomorrow in a Spring Training match up.

Tomorrow's game against the Blue Jays will carry with it a little more intrigue than an ordinary Grapefruit League tilt. That's because the Phillies are scheduled to face a young Toronto righthander named Kyle Drabek.

Sound familiar?

Drabek, of course, was the centerpiece of the three-prospect-package the Phillies sent to Toronto for Roy Halladay in December.

"It'll be interesting," pitching coach Rich Dubee said.

Interesting, because less than a year ago Drabek started the Phillies' Grapefruit League finale against the Yankees. Interesting, because Drabek was supposed to be one of the few "untouchables" in the Phillies' farm system. Interesting, because he could end up facing top Phillies prospect Domonic Brown, who in December thought he would end up going to Toronto along with Drabek.

Lefthander Cole Hamels is scheduled to start the game for the Phillies. Drabek is scheduled to pitch second for the Blue Jays.

Drabek has appeared in one game this spring, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out three in two innings.
