Down go the Phillies
It lasted just two hours, 18 minutes, but it was long enough to knock the Phillies out of first place for the first time since May 31. J.C. Romero allowed a two-run, two-out double to Carlos Delgado in the eighth inning and Billy Wagner recorded his second straight save to give the Mets a 3-1 lead.

The Mets are alone in first place for the first time since mid-April, and the Phillies are in second place for the first time since the end of May.
Should be an interesting final couple months of the season. . .
Stay tuned for more. . .
what is it going to take to shake this team up...just some of teh most frustrating baseball to watch, i wish they knew there are other ways to score besides the homerun....and i want to stop hearing how great this offense is...how good can it be without any 300 hitters?!?!?! TR
Absolutely awful. what the hell is wrong with this offense? They need to do something to shake things up. Dog Steeth
I got tickets on sale. Section 111 row 23. Get them while they are hot!! Beef69
I am so P.O'd. There, can I say that and get it posted? dksurf
what is going on with rollins..is he hurt?? or something else. his attitude the other night when asked about not scoring was terrible FLYGUY31
Hope you get the scoop on JRoll in time for Daily News Live. Dont have time to wait for BigBillChair as he is most likely working to update info on Bobby Wine, Steve Jeltz and Granny Hammner mick314
If Utley continues to hit like Mickey Morandini, they have no chance. kdkime
The Phillies offense has collasped. That game was theirs to win, but they can't score any runs. If you take away the 9th inning of Tuesday's game they scored a total of 6 runs in 26 innings against the METS. That won't get it done. This team better wake up. GHOSTPHAYCE
This team is done. I love the core players, but they're done this season. I feel bad that guys like Utley and Hamels are getting shafted because we over-pay for mediocre players, make terrible trades, and refuse to pay for pure talent. We should make runs at Sabathia and Sheets this offseason, but we won't. We'll throw some half-baked offers, but we'll definitely come up short. DMontgomery, I am embarrassed that my Dad is a fellow PC grad. You and your front office make me sick. ematusko
How many hitters do the Phillies have right now who battle? I mean work the count, foul off pitches, get under the pitchers skin? They aren't just making outs, they're easy to get out. Why does Charlie continue to allow Feliz to swing at 3-0 pitches? Feliz can't spell plate discipline. by the way, is that spelled right? I'm not sure if I can, either. catamount
Terrible at bats. Apparently a bad attitude from a player who is supposed to be a leader. This team acts like they can just turn it on when they want to. Frustrating to watch. There needs to be a shake up. Teams don't go on two month slumps, it just means they are bad teams. BTH
Three more strike-outs for our ten million dollar man. Three strike-outs for Utley, whose batting average is dropping faster everyday. At least twelve LOB today. Half of this team belongs down in Double A. It makes one want to Puke.... SteveF- Tso should have started today... then the Phils win, haha! Now that Holladay trade isn't sounding so bad, is it? Sounding pretty nice to me thats for sure. gho_matt
J-Roll shows up late? Are you kidding me? The way this team is playing. He is the leader? Only if this team had half the heart the fans do. The only player on this team that is playing with emotion is Shane. And they want to get rid of him. Go figure. Beef69
Please go get holliday and fuentes. if the trade deadline goes by and we get another player the caliber of blanton, i am going to cry. dch27
