Jason Donald, Lou Marson and Carlos Carrasco did not have to go far to join their new team.

The trio moved from the home clubhouse to the visitors clubhouse at CocaCola Park in Allentown tonight when they were traded from the Phillies to the Indians yesterday in the Cliff Lee deal. The Clippers are in town for a series against the IronPigs.

The three prospects along with Class A pitcher Jason Knapp were sent to Cleveland for Lee and outfielder Ben Francisco.

"The deal really came as a shock to me," Donald told the Daily News before the game. "You hear different things, but it's funny that you never want to believe it until it happens."

Carrasco pointed to a trade just being part of the game:  "It's business and something I have to get used to."

Marson politely declined to speak to reporters before the game.

Donald was in the Columbus lineup and hitting eighth, Marson was batting ninth. Carrasco was scratched from his scheduled start for the IronPigs yesterday. It had not been determined when he would pitch for Columbus.

More to come ...

Wow. Donald and Marson are batting 8 and 9 for their AAA team? I thought they need good prospects.

Their initial batting order is irrelevant...these guys just got traded yesterday afternoon...they probably don't want to put too much pressure or shake up their batting order right away. It's too bad that none of the three AAA guys panned out with the Phillies. They all worked their way up the system, were considered top prospects and seemed like solid guys. Good luck to them with the Indians.

Wonder how it must feel to go to potentially playing for the Phils, to the potentially playing for the tribe. I will be rooting for the Tribe next year, so these guys get their shot at a post-season trip, should any of them make it up.

Donald was shocked? Has this guy been living under a rock the last like 6 months.

What was the big trade Colorado was demanding last year around this time for Holliday? Was it Marson, Donald, Carrasco, and Victorino? What would the Phillies look like had they done that? Ibanez, Werth, and Holliday across the outfield, no shot at Lee, and maybe no WS ring, because Victorino was huge in the postseason.

Apparently, minor leaguers do not read the media, the Net or Philly.com. Perhaps we shall follow them or not. Personally, I want to see Cliff and Ben do well. As to the others, blessings but not when they play the Phils at any time.

^ You probably don't even go for Ibanez if that Holliday trade happened, Holliday would likely move to left and Werth and Jenkins fill the rest....yikes.

I'm surprised Donald didn't find it a relief. Exactly what part of our infield was he going to crack (without an injury)? As far as JimG being sad, be happy that we drafted well enough to make them expendable and our current roster is to good for them to be immediately necessary.

I guess its the first game of the series, but you'd think they'd give them at least one night off against their former team, but then again maybe batting against their former pitchers without them (pitchers) having a good scouting report will give them (batters) a boost.

Hocky-"The deal really came as a shock to me," Donald told the Daily News before the game. "You hear different things, but it's funny that you never want to believe it until it happens." That does 't mean he was living under a rock, it just means he knew it might happen, but he didn't want it too.
