Chooch graces cover of SI

Carlos Ruiz gets the cover treatment on Sports Illustrated this week, appearing on a regional edition.

Subscribers and newsstands in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia and southern New Jersey will get the Ruiz cover. The rest of the country will get the Derek Jeter cover.

The story inside is a long and well-deserved piece by the legendary Gary Smith, formerly of the Daily News.

    Yes!!! Well deserved recognition for an unsung player who constantly produces (unless hurt) on the field. I don't subscribe to SI, but I will buy this issue. Way to go Chooch! By the way, jinx will not apply to Chooch!

    CHOOOCH!!!! this is so much better than the "mentally and physically exhausted" Jeter. Chooch is hardcore. Jeter is just a wimp.
