Blanton threw 67 pitches, walked one, and struck out two and allowed two home runs in five innings of a rehab assignment for Double A Reading on Wednesday.

The Phillies will have to make a roster move before the game. The most likely options are reliever Antonio Bastardo or starter Kyle Kendrick, because the Phillies are still listing TBA for Wednesday night, which would be Kendrick's turn in the rotation.
