Just got word from the Phillies PR department that Chase Utley will be meeting with the media Monday afternoon. This will be his first availability since his hip surgery in late-November. I'll try to check in with a blog post after I return from the session.

Anybody have any burning questions for Mr. Utley?

Besides the obvious, turning on a fastball, how much effectwill this have on your fielding and turning the double.

Is this his first "press conference" since the parade/ceremony? I really hope no one bothers to try to bring up the "World F'ing Champions" quote to him (but I just know someone will) - just leave it in the eternal, grandiose lore that is the 2008 World Series title, where it belongs. And oh yeah, get well soon! See you in April Chase!

Ask him when he first felt the hip hindering his swing, how it affected his ability to turn on pitches, what adjustments he needed to make, and of course how he is feeling now!

Is this Chase Utley's first press conference in Philadelphia that is not mandated by the league, such as his availability during the playoffs?

Chase, As you see,we have many left handed bats in the lineup and not much protection for you and Ryan. How do you feel about missing a big bat like Pat's out of the lineup and do you think the Jayson's,shane's,and who evr will give you guy's enuff protection? Also, how's the hip?

You might as well ask him about skin care because you know he's going to bring it up anyway.

Why did he feel it necessary to bury the fact that he was obviously affected by the hip injury during the season?

1. How does he feel about Ibanez? 2. How has life changed since winning the World Series?
