About 90 minutes before the first game of Sunday's doubleheader began, the Phillies pitchers jogged out to right field to stretch out their arms.

Most of the position players hung back in the clubhouse, conserving their energy for the long day ahead. But a few mixed right in with the pitching staff, including Juan Pierre, Pete Orr and Kevin Frandsen.

Orr and Frandsen played a quick game of catch.

Frandsen, who is sidelined with a stress fracture in his left shin, was out of the lineup again. He hasn't started a game since Tuesday in Cincinnati.
Frandsen listed as day-to-day and unsure of when he'll return to regular action.

"I just didn’t feel like I was going to help the team at all," said Frandsen, who has been bothered by the injury for the last three weeks. "That’s the main thing for me. It’s not about myself. It’s about we’re trying to get something going. And if I’m going to be a hindrance to the team, than that’s not going to be the right thing. When I’m ready to go and they’re wanting me to play, then I’m ready to go. It’s up to them, too."

Frandsen took over regular third base duties six weeks ago today in Atlanta. He hit .336 (43-for-128) with a .384 on-base percentage in 33 games.

The Phillies went 19-14 in games Frandsen started.

Michael Martinez (.138) started his third straight game at third base in Frandsen's place on Sunday. Depending on how long Frandsen is out, the Phils could entertain the idea of bringing up third base prospect Cody Asche once Double-A Reading's run in the postseason ends.

"It's just gonna be a day to day thing," Frandsen said.
