Roy Halladay lists $1.95M Newtown Square home

Phillies past and present are making real estate deals in the offseason.

Phillies past and present are making real estate deals in the offseason.

On the heels of closer Jonathan Papelbon listing his $6.9 million Center City condo, retiree Roy Halladay has just put his Newtown Square crib on the market for $1.95 million.

Halladay retired in December 2013 after four seasons with the Phillies.

Halladay and his wife, Brandy, purchased the Delaware County home for about $2.3 million in March 2010 at the start of Halladay's first season with the Phillies, public records show.

The 7,900-square-foot home of the former Phillies pitcher is at the end of a cul-de-sac on Springhouse Lane. Luxury features include a finished basement with a gym, recreation room, and sauna. Outside, there's a pool house, an outdoor kitchen, and a pool with a spa.

The master suite includes a bedroom with a vaulted ceiling and his-and-her baths.

Halladay isn't the only Phillie to live in the neighborhood. His former teammate Cole Hamels has owned a home in Newtown Square since August 2009.

Real estate records show that the Halladays, whose primary residence is a six-bedroom, 10-and-a-half-bath spread in Odessa, Fla., sold a smaller home in Palm Harbor in May 2014.
