When realtor Steve DiFrancesco and wife Diane bought this St. Davids estate in 2005, they largely ignored the interior, focusing on two things instead: lot and location. The home occupies nearly an acre and a half, a stone's throw away from tony Aronimink Golf Club.
Once they had bought the property, the couple set about gutting it to the studs and renovating in what Steve described as a serious home makeover.
"We decided to take a basic house and turn it into something special," he said.
The house that emerged more than a year later had an entirely new floor plan and was fitted with the highest-end finishes available. Human occupants in the five-bedroom home were treated to a gourmet kitchen, a library suite with billiards room, and a master suite that includes an infinity tub filled from a stainless steel spout mounted in the ceiling.
The labs that live there got some treats too. Mainly in the form of a room just for them. Their mudroom includes its own full-size custom-tiled shower along with laundry facilities. Don't worry: the humans got a fancy laundry room too.
DiFrancesco's real estate firm, Hunter Reed, has listed the home at $2.695 million.
