Small world, big state

LONDON -- Here's a little numerology for you.

Carli Lloyd grew up in Delran. Jordan Burroughs is from Sicklerville. Those two towns are about 25 miles apart.

Wembley Stadium is about 20 miles from the ExCeL Center, where the wrestling competition is being held.

Burroughs is poised to win a gold medal about 23 hours after Lloyd's two-goal night secured one for the U.S. soccer team.

25 miles, 20 miles, 23 hours.

Burroughs will wrestle Iran's Sadegh Goudarzi for gold in the 163-pound weight class. Goudarzi is the man Burroughs defeated to win the world title in Istanbul last year. He is the favorite here.

Burroughs says he wants to be the face of wrestling. He has the personality and the charm. On the biggest day of his life, he is delivering in competition, where it counts most.

Carli knows the feeling.
