Camden DE Jamal Holloway headed to Syracuse
Camden defensive end Jamal Holloway became the fourth player from his team to accept a Division I offer when he made a commitment on Tuesday to attend Syracuse.
Holloway will be joining his Camden teammate, linebacker DyMelle Parker, at Syracuse. In addition, Camden linebacker Ron Johnson Jr. and wide receiver Brad Hawkins have committed to Michigan.
The 6-foot-4, 213-pound Holloway said that being future teammates with Parker, impacted his decision.
"That had a bearing with me," Holloway said. "I wanted to know somebody and I really liked the school and felt that it was the right place."
Holloway said the other schools he was considering were Temple, Pittsburgh and Michigan State.
Also a top basketball player, Holloway says basketball could be in his college plans as well.
"The basketball coaches want to see my highlights so it is possible," he said.
As a junior, Holloway had 45 tackles and six sacks and one fumble recovery for a 9-1 Camden team that won the West Jersey Football League Royal Division title.
