Manny Cortez threw five TD passes as Pennsauken beat Triton 52-23 Saturday in the semifinals of the SJ 4 tournament.
Pennsauken (9-1), the top seed, advances to face No. 2 seed Millville (10-0) in the SJ 4 title game Friday night, Dec. 2 at Rowan.
Amar Williams caught 2 TD passes and Justin Anderson-Copes caught 2 TD passes for Pennsauken.
Forget all that talk about the emergence of the pass-happy spread offense as the new wave in SJ football.
This is the new golden age of the running back.
There's never been a season like 2011 when it comes to running backs, and the most accomplished of those guys have two more games to add to their incredible rushing totals.
The regular season has receded. The consolation games are history.
Every game this weekend this stuffed with significance. I can see possible upsets in Group 4 (WT over Millville), Group 3 (Moorestown over Hammonton) and Group 1 (Penns Grove over Pennsville). But I can't quite pull the trigger on two of them.

Holy Spirit senior RBs Donta Pollock and Nigel Jones are on the brink of state history.
On Friday night, Pollock and Jones are likely to become the first set of classmates to pass 4,000 career rushing yards in the same season.
Pollock already has 4,317 yards. Jones has 3,936 entering Friday night's home game against Montclair Kimberley in the semifinals of the Non-Public 2 state tournament.
Nicole Varela scored on a penalty kick to lift the Moorestown girls soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Matawan in the Group 3 state semifinals on Tuesday night.
Varela took the penalty kick after Moorestown's Steph Toy was pulled down in the box with 12 minutes, 55 seconds remaining in the game.
Kemp Carr has been relieved of his duties as Penns Grove's football coach.
School superintendent Joseph Massare said Tuesday morning that Carr has been "suspended with pay," pending an investigation into a possible violation of the student code involving a Penns Grove player.
Moorestown quarterback Andrew Lisa will attend the University of Pennsylvania and play football for the Quakers.
Lisa said he made the decision in the last week. He has been accepted to the Ivy League school.
Lisa plans to attend Penn's Wharton School of Business.
Not much happened at the top of the Top 10 this week. The first six teams either won or were off.
But there's some movement at the bottom. No way to deny Washington Township any longer, and West Deptford moves in after the Eagles' fifth consecutive shutout.
Manny Cortez passed for 201 yards and two TDs and ran for 58 yards and another TD as Pennsauken beat Atlantic City 31-9 in the first round of the SJ 4 tournament Saturday.
The final score is deceiving. AC led 9-6 at halftime and Pennsauken was still in a dogfight midway in the fourth quarter.
