Forget all that talk about the emergence of the pass-happy spread offense as the new wave in SJ football.

This is the new golden age of the running back.

There's never been a season like 2011 when it comes to running backs, and the most accomplished of those guys have two more games to add to their incredible rushing totals.

The regular season has receded. The consolation games are history.

Every game this weekend this stuffed with significance. I can see possible upsets in Group 4 (WT over Millville), Group 3 (Moorestown over Hammonton) and Group 1 (Penns Grove over Pennsville). But I can't quite pull the trigger on two of them.

Not much happened at the top of the Top 10 this week. The first six teams either won or were off.

But there's some movement at the bottom. No way to deny Washington Township any longer, and West Deptford moves in after the Eagles' fifth consecutive shutout.

Manny Cortez passed for 201 yards and two TDs and ran for 58 yards and another TD as Pennsauken beat Atlantic City 31-9 in the first round of the SJ 4 tournament Saturday.

The final score is deceiving. AC led 9-6 at halftime and Pennsauken was still in a dogfight midway in the fourth quarter.
