Football: Boguszewski new coach at Eastern

By Phil Anastasia

Dan Boguszewski, an assistant coach at Paul VI for the last several seasons, was named the new football coach at Eastern on Wednesday night.

Boguszewski replaces Dan Spittal, who resigned in April after 14 seasons as the Vikings' head coach.

Eastern was 86-61 under Spittal. The Vikings were 10-2 in 2013, reaching the South Jersey Group 5 title game.

Boguszewski's hiring was approved by the Eastern board of education on Wednesday night. He will be hired as a health and physical education teacher in the high school.

Boguszewski is a 2000 Overbrook graduate who played football at Western Connecticut and Rowan. He has been an assistant coach at Triton, Burlington Township, Sterling and Paul VI.
