Basketball: Schedule for Shoot Down Cancer Classic

Basketball: Schedule for Shoot Down Cancer Classic

By Phil Anastasia

Old rivals Camden and Atlantic City will meet in one of the most anticipated games of the Shoot Down Cancer Classic Feb. 8-9 at St. Augustine Prep.

The two-day, 12-game showcase has been re-named from the Olympic Cape Challenge as organizers have opened the event to teams from other conferences.

This season, Delsea and Williamstown from the Tri-County Conference will play in the showcase.

As always, proceeds will benefit the Shoot Down Cancer foundation as well as Children's Hospital in Philadelphia. The event has been one of the highlights of the South Jersey basektball regular season since 2001.

Another highly anticipated game in this year's showcase will be Holy Spirit vs. host St. Augustine Prep in a clash of Cape-Atlantic and Non-Public South A rivals.

In addition, Cherry Hill East will face Millville in a possible SJ Group 4 playoff preview.
