Baseball: Millville selling Mike Trout "Throwback" Jerseys

By Phil Anastasia

Millville's baseball team is selling T-shirts honoring its most famous former player as a fundraiser for the program.

The orange T-shirts feature the No. 1 that Mike Trout wore during his four seasons with the Thunderbolts.

Trout, a 2009 Millville graduate, just finished his second full season with the Los Angeles Angels. He was the Rookie of the Year in 2012 and finished second the MVP voting.

He is a strong candidate for the MVP award again after batting .323 with a league-high 109 runs and 110 walks as well as 27 home runs, 97 RBIs, 39 doubles and 33 stolen bases.

The T-shirts have "Millville" and 1" on the front and "Trout" and "1" on the back.

Contact Millville coach Roy Hallenbeck at royhallenbeck@yahoo.com for more information.

You can also visit this site to see pictures of the front and back of the T-shirts and directly order the T-shirts: http://mps.millvillenj.gov/Page/1214
