Timber Creek rising senior Justice Davila believes he can make history at Old Dominion University.

He believes all of ODU's incoming players, including fellow South Jersey stars Marques Little and Ray Lawry, can make their mark with a program that is entering a new and exciting time.

"Who wouldn't want to be part of that?" said Davila, a linebacker who committed to ODU on Monday. "It's like you're creating a different future."

Davila started as a sophomore and junior for Timber Creek teams that won South Jersey titles.

He also had offers from Temple and Delaware.

Davila said he visited Old Dominion's campus in Norfolk, Va., in June and made his decision shortly afterward.

"Once I saw the place, it was a wrap," Davila said. "The coaches showed me so much love, they support the football team so much. There was such a great vibe."

Davila said he has been friendly for years with Little and Lawry, who committed to ODU last month. He said he played youth football and basketball against the other two athletes.

Little, a RB/DB at Williamstown, and Lawry, a RB/DB at Kingsway, mentioned ODU's pending move from the FCS level of NCAA Division 1 (formerly Division 1-AA) to the FBS level as a factor in their decision to committ to the program.

Davila felt the same way.

"It's exciting to be a part of something like that," said Davila, who hopes to major in engineering.

Davila said it was "a relief" to make a college decision before his senior year. He is the second TC athlete in the class of 2014 to commit, after wide receiver Adonis Jennings (Rutgers).

Davila said he was determined to help Timber Creek win its third consecutive South Jersey title.

"We're going for the third ring," Davila said.
