Cherry Hill West senior football players Jimmy Verzicco and Nick Mallardi have committed to attend East Stroudsburg (Pa.) University, according to Lions coach Brian Wright.

Verzicco, a wide receiver and defensive back, and Mallardi, a linebacker, were leaders for a CH West team that was in contention for the program's first playoff berth with a 4-4 record at the cutoff date.

Verzicco caught a 9-yard touchdown pass in a 16-7 upset of Moorestown, probably CH Eest's biggest victory of the season.

Mallardi returned an interception 32 yards for a TD in a 39-6 win over Woodrow Wilson.

East Stroudsburg is an NCAA Division II program that competes in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
