Players to watch this season in South Jersey baseball:


-- Christian Adorno, senior shortstop, St. Augustine: A top fielder, this Wilmington recruit batted .396 last season with 23 steals.

-- Barry Buchowski, senior catcher, St. Augustine: This Tulane recruit batted .361 with 10 doubles and 23 RBIs.

-- Pat Burns, senior pitcher/infielder, Haddon Twp.:  He was 8-1 on the mound with a 2.06 ERA and batted .405 with 25 RBIs.

-- Nick Cieri, senior catcher, Rancocas Valley: This Maryland recruit who batted .483 last season has 85 career hits, 32 for extra bases.

-- Joey Craig, junior infielder, Camden Catholic: He batted .394 with four homers and eight doubles.

-- Jake Danner, junior pitcher/infielder, GCIT: He was 7-1 on the mound with a 1.31 ERA and also batted .459 with 11 doubles.

-- Trevor Datz, senior infielder, Pitman: A second-team All-South Jersey selection, he's signed with University of the Sciences.

-- Jarret DeHart, senior outfielder, Shawnee: This LSU recruit batted .368 with three homers and 21 steals and walked 31 times.

-- Conner Dilks, senior pitcher, Pennsville: He was 6-2 with a 1.23 ERA and 46 Ks.

-- Nick Freijomil, senior pitcher, Delsea: This LUI recruit went 8-2 as a junior.

-- Zach Funk, senior catcher, GCIT: This Paulsboro football player batted .350 and hit six triples.

-- Zac Gallen, senior pitcher/infielder, Bishop Eustace: This North Carolina recruit fired a three-hitter with seven strikeouts in the Diamond Classic title game.

-- Nick Gallo, senior pitcher/outfielder, Paul VI: He's a George Mason recruit who was an All-South Jersey outfielder as a sophomore.

-- Joe Gatto, junior pitcher/infielder, St. Augustine: He batted .381 with 31 RBIs despite missing last couple of weeks with injury. Has committed to North Carolina as pitcher.

-- Jon Gonzales, senior catcher, Winslow Twp.: A Delaware State recruit, he has 101 hits, 99 RBIs and 16 home runs in his career.

-- Giovanni Gussen, senior outfielder, Gloucester Catholic: This Rider recruit batted .444 with 28 RBIs.

-- Billy Grubb, senior pitcher, Washington Twp.: He went 7-1 with a 2.16 ERA and 53 Ks. Battling arm ailment this spring.

-- Beau Hall, senior pitcher, Ocean City: This Georgetown recruit was 8-2 on the mound.

-- Shaine Hughes, senior infielder, Washington Twp.: This Monmouth recruit batted .412 with 26 RBIs.

-- Chris Jones, sophomore infielder, Bishop Eustace: He batted .404 with 10 doubles and made Carpenter Cup as frosh.

-- Tyler Kaiser, senior pitcher/infielder, Moorestown: He's signed with Rider as a third baseman.

-- Zach Lang, senior pitcher, Cherry Hill East: He's a Bloomsburg (Pa.) recruit and part of a deep staff that includes senior Alex Dimpter and junior Nick DiEva.

-- Brian Lawler, senior catcher, Shawnee: This James Madison recruit batted .403 with six doubles.

--  Ryan Long, senior catcher, Washington Twp.: He batted .341 with 18 steals.

-- Sean Kelly, senior pitcher, Cherokee: This Rutgers recruit was 6-0 with 42 strikeouts in 31 2/3 innings.

-- Brad Machinski, senior infielder, Cherry Hill West: He batt.ed 400 and notched three pitching wins for the Lions.

-- Ryan McGoldrick, junior shortstop, Sterling: Slick fielder who sets table for Sterling offense.

-- Mike McLaughlin, junior infielder, Haddonfield: He batted .348 with five homers.

-- Kevin Milley, senior pitcher, Lenape: This crafty left-hander who has signed with Delaware allowed just five earned runs in his final 28 innings.

-- Andrew Mottola, senior infielder/outfielder, Sterling: Standout swimmer who could be poised for big senior season with Silver Knights.

-- John Murphy, sophomore pitcher, Gloucester Catholic: He was 7-2 with a 1.39 ERA with 46 strikeouts and just 10 walks.

-- Chris Oakley, senior pitcher, St. Augustine: This North Carolina recruit pitched a two- hitter with 10 strikeouts against Christian Brothers in the South A semifinals.

-- Pedro Perez, senior pitcher/infielder, Burlington City: He was 7-2 on the mound with a 0.98 ERA and 111 strikeouts and also batted .415.

-- Steve Pollastrelli, senior outfielder, Williamstown: This University of Sciences recruit batted .388 and scored 28 runs.

-- Steve Priolo, senior pitcher, Eastern: A Marist recruit, he was 4-2 with 25 strikeouts and just 10 walks.

-- Jordan Rizzo, senior infielder, Williamstown: He batted .430 with eight homers and 33 RBIs.

-- Nick Sciortino, senior infielder, Haddon Heights: This speedy athlete has signed with Boston College.

-- Mike Shawaryn, senior pitcher, Gloucester Catholic: This Maryland recruit was 7-0 with a 1.56 ERA as a sophomore but missed most of last season with an injury.

-- Nick Tierno, senior infielder, Eastern: This La Salle recruit batted .436 and scored 30 runs and needs 7 hits to become the Vikings' first player to reach 100 hits.

-- Dave Young, senior pitcher/infielder, Clearview: This Lehigh recruit leads a deep Pioneers pitching staff.
