Tabu Gaither scored 23 points with 12 rebounds as Lenape handled Pitman 68-53 Saturday in the tipoff game of the CHE Invitational.

Kendall Green added 15 with three steals for Lenape (21-2), the No. 5 team in The Inquirer Top 10. The Indians scored a season high in points. Their previous high was 65 against Woodrow Wilson Jan. 24.

Darnell Foreman scored 16 with six rebounds and Tim Delaney added 15 with seven rebounds for Pitman (19-5).

Lenape broke the game open with a 15-2 surge at the end of the first half. Gaither, a 6-4 senior, and Green, a 5-11 senior, led the rally as the Indians took a 28-15 halftime lead.

Lenape opened the second half with two free throws as Pitman was hit with a technical for a scorebook violation. Sawyer Hand made both free throws and the Indians were ahead 30-15 and inbounded the basketball.

Pitman rallied a bit in the second half as Delaney, a 6-9 sophomore, made a trio of three-pointers and Foreman, a 6-0 junior, slashed in the lane with a pair of traditional three-point plays.

But Lenape's ball movement on offense resulted in good shots against Pitman's scrambling defense. Gaither made four three-pointers and Green added three as the Indians generated more offense than in any game this season.
