Basketball: No. 1 vs. No. 2 highlights CHE Invitational

A matchup between top-ranked Atlantic City and No. 2 Paulsboro will highlight this weekend's Cherry Hill Invititational showcase in boys' basketball.

Nine teams in The Inquirer's South Jersey Top 10 and several other top squads will compete during the two-day event.

Tickets are $6 for a full day. Proceeds will benefit the Adam Taliaferro Foundation as well as the Cherry Hill East athletic department.

Atlantic City (19-1) will meet Paulsboro (20-1) at 2:30 on Sunday.

The Vikings are the defending Group 4 state champions. The Red Raiders are the defending South Jersey Group 1 champions.

The teams have held the top two spots in the rankings all season. Neither team lost to a South Jersey opponent.

Other games that will match Top 10 teams include No. 7 Eastern vs. No. 9 Haddonfield at 12:30 on Saturday and No. 4 St. Augustine Prep vs. No. 10 Rancocas Valley at 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Other Top 10 teams in the field include No. 5 Lenape, which faces Pitman; No. 8 Paul VI, which plays Middle Township and No. 3 Shawnee, which meets Holy Spirit.
