Baseball: Delsea beats Williamstown

Winning pitcher Garrett Craig controlled the game for six innings and Bryan Dobzanski hit a two-run home run as Delsea beat Williamstown, 5-3, Monday in a key Tri-County Royal game.

Winning pitcher Garrett Craig controlled the game for six innings and Bryan Dobzanski hit a two-run home run as Delsea beat Williamstown, 5-3, Monday in a key Tri-County Royal game.

Craig, a senior right-hander, faced just 20 batters over the first six innings as Delsea built a 5-0 lead. Williamstown pulled within 5-3 when Jordan Rizzo hit a three-run HR in the top of the seventh.

Nick Freijomil relieved Craig and struck out the side to record the save.

Delsea improved to 13-9 overall and moved to the brink of the division title with a 6-3 mark. The Crusaders can clinch the crown with a win over Clearview on Friday.

Williamstown is 12-8 and 6-4.

Craig improved to 4-2. He ended up allowing three runs on six hits, with four strikeouts and no walks.

Curt Delia was 1-for-1 with a walk and RBI sacrifice fly for Delsea. Delia, a senior catcher, also scored two runs.

Dobzanski, a sophomore shrotstop, hit his two-run HR in the fourth to give Delsea a 4-0 lead. The Cruaders made it 5-0 on Delia's sacrifice fly in the fifth.
