Football: West Deptford survives scare from Woodbury

West Deptford pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 28-0 victory over Woodbury on Saturday morning.

This was a 28-point game on the scoreboard -- nowhere else.

"They had every right to win the game," West Deptford coach Clyde Folsom said of Woodbury.

The Thundering Herd had first-and-goal twice while the score was still 0-0. Both teams, the Eagles defense rose up and made the stop.

"We let them off the hook," Woodbury coach Zac Valentine said.

Sophomore fullback Gerald Towns ran for 133 yards and a TD for West Deptford (4-1). Junior Josh Conrelius added 72 yards on just 7 carries.

West Deptford's defense, led by LB Todd Jarrell, held Woodbury QB Anthony Averett to just 6 yards on 17 carries, counting sacks.
