PSPCA to host block party and mega-adoption event

The cages are full folks, the summer shelter crush going on right now at your area home for homeless animals.

Philly folks, groove on over to the Pennsylvania SPCA this weekend for the third annual "Peace and Love Block Party" starting Saturday at the North Philadelphias shelter.

The goal is to find forever homes for 150 needy animals.

There are special fee-waived (free) adoptions of kittens, cats and mixed-breed adult dogs. Puppies and purebred dogs may be adopted for a reduced fee of $100.

And you can get a great deal on vaccinations too at $15, which is 50 percent off.

There will be food and entertainment, face painting and other kids activities.

The party starts tomorrow at 10 a.m. and runs until 6 p.m. with the same hours on Sunday.

The shelter is located at 350 E. Erie Ave.

All adoptable pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to love you.
