Officer corrals frightened pup on AZ superhighway

Talk about an unusual animal round-up.

A police officer manages to herd a frightened dog as it bolted into traffic on a multi-lane highway in Phoenix.

Watch the live video taken by a news helicopter as the officer first uses his motorcycle and then his feet to corral the little dog while traffic zooms all around.

Two dogs escaped when a car overturned on the highway. The other dog - and their owner - were also reported safe and unharmed.

Hats off to Department of Public Safety Officer Martin Bennett for his bravery and kind-hearted action on behalf of an animal in crisis.

Hat tip to Ohmidog for this story.
