Animal attraction: Songs inspired by pets

"You don't lie and you don't cheat and you don't have any baggage tied to your four feet."

Those are the words of the incomparable Norah Jones and her 2009 ballad to her poodle, Ralph, in "Man of the Hour."

Paul McCartney, Freddie Mercury and Elvis, are among the rock stars who wrote and dedicated songs to the pets in their lives. Now Mother Jones has compiled the Top Ten Songs Inspired by pets.

Whether remembering a lost dog or cat or celebrating a new love found, the songs lyrics all have a familiar theme: they celebrate the writer's love of animals..
