Angry fans dump Eagles tickets on Craig's List

POSTED: Friday, August 14, 2009, 8:57 AM

Eagles fans are putting their hard-earned tickets where their mouths are on Craig's List today. Word was barely out about Michael Vick signing a two-year deal with the Eagles when Philadelphia Craig's List started buzzing with angry fans seeking to rid themselves of tarnished tickets.

Writes one Eagles fan trying to unload season tickets: "The last thing my son & I want to see is Michael Vick in an Eagles jersey. We made up our mind to sell the tickets. Lower Level, 2 seats, side by side, 24 rows off the field. Great seats. $3000 cash gets the tickets. Any info feel free to ask, serious buyers only, I want the deal done fast."

Another disgruntled fan writes: If the Eagles are going to sell out, then so am I. 2 tickets to 7 regular season games in section 237 row 13 for $2000.00. I already donated the Tampa Bay tickets for a charity

Still another post urges fans to donate some of the proceeds from their ticket sales to charity.

Of course, Craig's list was awash with other posters looking to "help" fans who wanted to shed their tickets. Wrote one: "Vick haters look no further $100. I will take your tickets from you!!!!"

johnny, none of the things you posted involved someone getting pleasure out of those crimes? They were accidents. You don't accidently fund dog fighting. You people are willing to believe anything and put your morals aside so that we can have a fast man to put in the line-up. You really think he didn't participate, or didn't agree? Do you think if his cousin asked him to fund a heroin business he would have said yes?

Reid is deluded to think sadistic thugs cheering as dogs bleed to death is the same as his kids' spoiled indulgences. Maybe both the result of poor parenting, but that doesn't make them comparable. No doubt his boys will be assistant coaches soon. Vick is a sociopath. If he were a pedophile, I wonder if the Eagles faithful would be as open minded. Maybe the NFL should start drafting out of federal prisons, probably plenty of athletes wasting away who could be convinced of their errors for a few million dollars.

Ouwa...Dogs used to travel in packs, so barking and letting everyone know where they are is the point. How can you be this unintelligent about something so obvious? Go bash some cans on your head as you chant Michael Vick

@ cduran1229: A "peddle-stool" is someone who sells there tickets claiming that its because of Michael Vick's signing.

nice reporting...4 tickets up doesn't sound like a massive mob selling off their tickets. When 20% of tickets are dumped with no buyers, then we have a story. Otherwise, please let's all just add to the hype already?

To all you Vic supporters, would your second chance generosity be extended to a police officer convicted of the same crime, shouldn't he/she be placed back on the job? So you know, that officer would not have a shot at a second chance, as would be the case with most proffessions - hypocracy at its highest level.

There wasn't this much reaction when 3 humans beat another human to death outside a Phillies game a few weeks ago. So sad.

jmac, so you don't think there's more than 100 dog lovers that own tickets and won't be going? You know why america is hated by a lot of other countries? Because when it comes down to it, we are willing to put any type of value or moral aside to get what we want. Don't think everyone is like you though...Funny how many Eagle fans are willing to taunt a Dallas fan for liking a football team. Some will even fight over it...but this? Eh it's ok...Cause he's an Eagles. Would have loved to see all of your reactions had he joined with the Cowboys. At least we know how Manny would be treated if he ever joins the Phillies? Or perhaps Phillies fans have more brain cells left than your average Eagles bandwagoner. Yea...supporting a guy just cause he joins your team...true bandwagon right there. Forget about who he is right?

One of the basic tenant of the Judeo-Christian religion is forgiveness, let he who has not sin throw the first stone. Eagles are what an organization should be class and always looking to make themselves better. I concur with this decision and I am a white male. GP IGGLES

If these people wanted to really make a statement, they would just burn the tickets so no one was in the seats to cheer for the Birds or Vick.

Are these tickets cheap? Or are they asking full price and then some?
