Video of Phillies fan being tasered

POSTED: Tuesday, May 4, 2010, 7:23 AM

Here's a YouTube video from the stands at Citizens Bank Park of a Phillies fan running onto the field and being tasered during the team's 6-3 loss to the Cardinals Wednesday night.

Well done, Philly's Finest!!!! If Rizzo were Police Commissioner, this idiot might have "accidently" fallen down 6 flights of stairs on the way to the Police Station!

If you want to play, you're gonna pay! But now the media is making it all the Police Departments fault.

are you people all insane? of course he's an idiot. but i think you are all forgetting that tasers are life threatening devices and can kill you regardless of your age or health. hundreds of people have been killed by them. they should only be used in situations when you would otherwise have been forced to use a gun. this is obviously not that situation. this person posed no risk at all to anyone. if he gets hurt or even breaks an arm whilst being tackled to the ground, then that's just what happens when you run onto a field, you have to expect your going to get roughed up and he would have deserved that along with any charges they gave him. but using a taser? endangering his life? it's insane. that cop should have his badge removed. just be thankful that the kid didn't die. a 17 year old kid, electrocuted to death in front of 47,000 people. it would have been a huge embarrassment and would have disgraced an entire police force that his it hard it enough as it is w/o this fat fool using his taser because he's too lazy to chase a kid and tackle him like a man.

How come we never talk about cops who can't beat a 17-year-old in a foot race?

Nunzscar, it is. the cop ran out there just to tase him, no verbal warnings, no attempt to subdue him with appropriate means. the cop acted more like a mall cop that just hopped off his segway, than a professional law enforcement officer.

As Bruce Springsteen once said, "...you can't walk away, from the price you pay" He got what he deserved and is probably lucky he didn't get the crap beat out of him by Philly's finest.

B-rooster. how could the cop know he's unarmed? are you serious? lets count the many ways in which he could have determined this. 1. he was in a baseball stadium that pats people down before they enter 2. he showed no weapon 3. he said not a threatening word nor made a threatening gesture. 4. he was a 17 year old kid. 5. he was running around the outfield waving a towel. sure, you never know, maybe he did have a weapon, that's why you need to be careful. but you should also use common sense to determine that this kid is not a threat. also how the hell is taser deadly force? i don't know how you define deadly force but a form of force that has killed hundreds of people is deadly force. think about what you're saying before you type.

That cop is a puss, learn how to tackle someone you loser. You've got mace, a nightstick, even your hands...but a taser? It's a disgrace to the hardworking good cops out there who would have tacked that little runt.

How do you know at the time if the guy is 17, 18, 20, 21? How do you know he doesn't run up to Shane Victorino pulls out his favorite pen knife and stabs him. Then people would be saying where's the cops?

This sends a message to other idiots thinking about doing this - stay off the field. What, are they just supposed to let him and another fan just run around until they can nap him? Just what I want to see when I go to the game.

If the cop was not such a load he could have chased him down. Perhaps we need a phitness course for our "Phinest"?
