Video: Joe Conklin and daughter Casey Conklin give Eagles coach Andy Reid the Taylor Swift treatment

POSTED: Wednesday, November 21, 2012, 9:35 AM

Famed local comedian Joe Conklin and his daughter, Casey, have teamed up on a music video that mocks Andy Reid's failures this season.

The video is based on Taylor Swift's song "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." It's a fair bet that many Eagles fans have been saying just that to Reid throughout this season.

By the way, the Eagles announced Wednesday morning that Taylor Swift will perform at Lincoln Financial Field on July 20 as part of next year's tour schedule. We doubt Reid will still be around at that point, but if he is... how about a duet?

Here are the lyrics to the Conklin version of the song. All words are sung by Casey Conklin unless otherwise noted:

[Andy Reid in a voiceover, with an actor portraying him on camera: Alright, got to do a better job, I'll take full responsibility, time's yours]

I remember when you screwed up the first time
Fourteen years later is enough, cause like
We haven't had a sack in a month
And you say, you'll do a, better, job

[Reid in a voiceover, with an actor portraying him on camera: Better job.]

What?
Then you come out again and say
Listen, I'm taking full responsibility. I've had it.
Every week is Groundhog Day,
I say: I hate you. You say, you'll fix it. Times yours

[Reid in a voiceover, with an actor portraying him on camera: Time's yours]

Oooh you screwed it up again last night
But Oooh, this time I'm telling you, I'm telling you
We are never ever ever gonna win with Andy
We are never ever ever gonna win with Andy

You go fire your friends,
Always your friends, it's never you
But we are never ever ever gonna win with Andy

[Joe Conklin on screen: What do they call the definition of insanity?]

Like ever...
I'm really gonna miss our Monday talk
And your, funny way managing of the clock.
Your stupid, play calling in the red zone
And all the, fourth quarter leads that you've blown.

[Casey Conklin stops singing, and says in a speaking tone: So he comes out again and he says: "I gotta do a better job" And I'm like, "I mean, this is exhausting, you know"]

We are never going to win with anything with Andy ...like ever.
We are never ever ever gonna win with Andy

[Reid voiceover: Better job]

We are never ever ever gonna win with Andy

[Reid voiceover: Gotta do a better job]

You go fire your friends,
Always your friends, it's never you

[Reid voiceover: I gotta look in the mirror]

But we are never ever ever gonna win with Andy

    Not really.

Usual WIP over promoted so-called (pretty) 'funny guy' who is anything but. And to bring his daughter into it as well. What else can you say?

    Classless.

As is most of the piling on of Andy Reid. We can agree this season is a fail. We can agree that the last two seasons have been a fail. We can agree that he should go. But the classless and clueless emotional slumming personal smears of any public sports figure is out of bounds. GAL.

i disagree. public figures are exactly that--public figures. they are open to criticism -- especially Reid. The man has become a multi-millionaire coaching football in this town. Your opinion of caliber of criticism is merely an opinion. Its by no means out of bounds. I dont really care for thie parody, but to take moral high ground in an effort to defend AR is weak.

Well, I'm glad to see that Andy is one here and reading and post replies to the comments!

Calm down there Mr. Reid, it's all in good fun!

Yes, I believe Andy must become reinvigorated elsewhere. However, it is tiring listening to whiny, attention-craving media members who feel as though Andy Reid hurt their feelings over the last 14 years. Phil Sheridan is no exception to the latter, either. I remember when the Eagles went 6-10 and Angelo demanded justice for the fans, then Reid took the team to the NFC championship game the subsequent year. Where was the WIP team, then? Of course, they were crying in a corner of the studio in a state of amnesia after pleading for Reid to support the acquisition of Ricky Williams. Remember, Gov? It is easy to kick a man when he is broken. The truth is that most of the writers for the Philadelphia papers and the on-air personalities creating hysteria on WIP need a change in scenery, too. Let's clean house across the board.

Mac_mommy-I am uncertain where you disagree with me. I agree that Reid needs to go elsewhere, however, your lone fraction of evidence is more flawed than your opinion of drafting Ricky Williams instead of Donovan McNabb. New York has settled for mediocrity for many years. An elementary sports fan can cite New York's love affair with Alex Rodriguez and his lack of post-season success. And, where is he right now? Has he been traded because he just cannot survive the media? Further, I never stated the media was 'bad', I simply stated that, as an entity, the media points out everyone's flaws without looking in the mirror. Even Ray Didinger, whom I respect dearly, boasted how 'great' Nate Allen was going to be in the NFL when Reid selected him. Everyone makes mistakes, even you. Your closing comment would only be uttered by a height-challenged person who has struggled with an inferiority complex for most of his life. I am sorry if the truth hurts you, too.

"New York has settled for mediocrity for many years." Yeah, because, I mean, they've only won TWO of the last FIVE Superbowls! Yeah that's the definition of "mediocrity"! Oops, wait...

Would you care to point out Andy Reid's Superbowl wins, I can't seem to find them!

sad to say... Andy has won a lot of games over the years so I would have said, "We're never gonna win a Super Bowl with Andy!" AND THAT'S THE TRUTH! Great job Conklin Family!!

Don't worry, print os almost dead now, which is why radio is going south. Most of the sports writers will need a job soon so they're moving to RADIO STAR! And what exactly does anyone see in Eskin? Why is he still around!
