'Like a Seinfeld episode:' Tim Tebow’s errant throw hits N.J. man in the crotch

Tim Tebow is improving at the plate, but his throwing accuracy still needs a bit of work.

The former Eagles quarterback and ESPN college football analyst, now an aspiring Mets outfielder on the team's Single-A team, the Columbia Fireflies, was in Lakewood, N.J. for a Tuesday night matchup against the Phillies' Single-A squad, the Blue Claws.

During warm-ups before the game, Tebow overthrew one of his teammates, causing the ball to zoom underneath the railing and land square in the crotch of a New Jersey fan attending the game with his daughter.

"I hear this guy behind me yell, 'Watch out,' " Doug Brustman told the New York Post. "And as he's yelling, the ball comes right through the railing and hits me right in the nuts. It was a direct hit."

Brustman, 45, from nearby Manchester, N.J., was standing beside his 13-year-old daughter, a huge Tebow fan, and said he wasn't paying attention when the ball struck him.

"It was literally like a Seinfeld episode. The guy behind me shouts, 'It was TEBOW,' " Brustman told the Post. "It reminded me of his days with the Jets when he couldn't complete a pass. This guy is so inaccurate, even with a baseball."

Brustman said there are no hard feelings, especially after Tebow apologized and signed the ball and two books written by the aspiring outfielder his daughter brought to the game.

"It's really funny and I'm having fun with it," Brustman told the New York Daily News. "But I'm sore. It hurts."

Tebow appears to have been a big hit at the Shore. According to attendance numbers released by the Blue Claws, Tebow drew 23,389 fans during his three-day appearance, bring in over 8,000 fans on both Monday and Tuesday night.
