'The impossible is possible': Harry Caray 'calls' World Series win

With the Cubs winning the World Series, a few smart people at Budweiser got together with Harry Caray's family to put together a really cool video of Caray "calling" the final out of Game 7.

One of the most unforgettable legacies of the Phillies' 2008 World Series triumph was that Harry Kalas got to announce the moment on local radio. It was a historic moment not just for the team, but for Kalas, too, since Major League Baseball broadcasting rules in 1980 barred him from the privilege when Tug McGraw leapt into the air.

Harry Caray, the legendary Chicago Cubs broadcaster, never even got the chance to be barred. Caray called Cubs games from 1982 through 1997, during which time the team made the playoffs only twice - and lost in the NLCS both times. And he passed away in 1998, before an era of prominence in the mid-2000s and the current rise to the top.

But somewhere in that time, along with all those exclamations of "Hey!" and the occasional "Cubs win!," Caray also said the phrase "World Series" once or twice, even if the Cubs never got there.

So with the Cubs winning the title Wednesday night, a few smart people at Budweiser got together with Caray's family to put together a really cool video of Caray "calling" the final out of Game 7.

I'd like to think that you don't have to be a Cubs fan to appreciate it. All you need is an appreciation of the bond between a team and its fans, and the voices that connect them.
