Spurs reportedly waive former Villanova standout Ryan Arcidiacono

The Spurs have waived former Villanova standout Ryan Arcidiacono after the team's final preseason game against the Houston Rockets Friday night, Jabari Young of the San Antonio Express-News reports.

After helping lead Villanova to a national championship last season, Arcidiacono signed a two-year-deal with the Spurs. It's possible he could end up in the D-League with the Austin Spurs.

The 6-foot-3 guard scored two points, had six assists, one rebound and one steal in 14 minutes during his last preseason game.

Arcidiacono was named most outstanding player of last year's Final Four. According to the Inquirer's Joe Juliano, he was the first player in program history to score more than 1,500 points and hand out more than 500 assists, coming up with 1,604 points and 535 assists.
