Here is my favorite part:
As you may or may not know, tripping balls while in the middle of a gaggle of reporters shouting questions two inches away from your ears is the ninth circle of hell. Just as I was about to sprint out of the herd, I saw a man dressed as a superhero of some sort and was sure I had completely lost it.
The first sentence by SBNation's Amy K. Nelson says it all: "Attending my first Super Bowl media day I did not anticipate that I'd be watching a reporter trip his face off..."
According to Nelson, there is a reporter from VICE Magazine in New Orleans to cover the Super Bowl - because that's the first place we all go to for Super Bowl analysis - that planned to spend media day while under the influence of the psychedelic drug acid.
And he wasn't planning just a little trip.
Writes Nelson:
But he agreed to let me write about watching him trip on acid. I mean, WHAT COULD POSSIBLY HAPPEN? I knew I wanted to see.
"I don't know what will happen," he said. "I could wind up making snow angels in the middle of the field."
Hank told me he had five tabs of acid and was going to drop all of them, but not until he was in the building and had everything settled. He didn't want to go to through security or run into any issues while tripping. Smart strategy. We were texting throughout the morning, and the first time I saw him, he was smiling wide, laughing a bit, saying it just was starting to kick in. [MORE]
Maybe VICE Magazine's Super Bowl coverage will be more entertaining and enlightening than I originally thought.

Don't eat the brown acid man... 19147
There are child labor laws in this country, and the authorities should investigate this newspaper for hiring juveniles to write this rubbish. larryork
Priceless! Grazman
That's great, he was smiling; you got a heck of a scoop there, really worth wasting everyone's time with it. croozn
I read the "article," which tells the reader absolutely nothing about the writer's experience tripping on acid. Nothing. Amy K Nelson may in fact be the least informative "writer" ever. Something along the line of this: I went to the superbowl today. The game was played. One team won and one team lost. Great day. You now know as much about the Superbowl as I do about the writer who went to media day tripping on acid. warrentheape
Well, that was pretty pointless. Tatt2
Hunter S Thompson didn't have to announce to the other media morons he was taking hard drugs. He just did it then out-wrote them all. This is garbage. girouxforpresident
