Report: Phillies to sign Pineiro to minor league deal

According to Jayson Stark of ESPN, the Phillies and free-agent pitcher Joel Pineiro have agreed on a minor league deal with an invite to spring training.

According to Jayson Stark of ESPN, the Phillies and free-agent pitcher Joel Pineiro have agreed on a minor league deal with an invite to spring training.

Pineiro, a 33-year-old right-handed pitcher, spent the last two season with the Angels, going 7-7 with a 5.13 ERA in 2011. Previously, he pitched for the Mariners, Red Sox and Cardinals.
