Lehigh Valley IronPigs – Triple A

Lehigh Valley used a 7-run seventh inning to break open a 1-1 game, and held on to beat the Syracuse Chiefs, 8-5. Maikel Franco had a good game at the plate for the IronPigs, going 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs. Tyler Henson continued his hot start to the season. going 2-for-4 to improve his average to .375.

Chad Billingsley made the start for the IronPigs, going five innings and not giving up a run. He walked two and struck out three, only allowing two hits on the night.

Lehigh Valley takes to the road for a series with Buffalo, which kicks off Thursday night at 6:05 p.m.

Reading Fightin Phils – Double-A

Roman Quinn could not be off to a better start in his first year in Reading. The Center Fielder went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead the Fightin Phils to a 4-1 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. Quinn improved his batting average to .478 from the leadoff spot.

Anthony Vasquez went five innings for Reading without giving up a run, earning him the win. He allowed just three hits while striking out four and walking just one. Stephen Shackelford came in for his first save of the season in the ninth inning.

The Fightin Phils have their first off day of the season on Thursday before kicking off the home portion of their schedule in Reading on Friday night.

Clearwater Threshers – Class A-Advanced

The Threshers knocked off the Jupiter Hammerheads 7-4, at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Fla.

David Whitehead pitched six strong innings Clearwater, striking out four batters and surrendering just one run on seven hits.

Kevin Walter struggled after entering the game in the seventh inning, allowing three runs on four hits during his only inning of work.

Edubray Ramos earned the win for Lakewood and Ulises Joaquin picked up the save, pitching scoreless eighth and ninth innings respectively.

All of Lakewood's runs came in the top of the ninth inning. Center fielder Aaron Brown went 2-for-5 and had 2 RBI to lead the Thresher's offense.

Domonic Brown continued his rehab assignment, going 1-for-4, striking out once and scoring a run Wednesday.

Clearwater will finish their series with the Hammerheads on Thursday at 6:35 p.m. Left-hander Brandon Leibrandt gets the start for the Threshers.

Lakewood BlueClaws – Class A

The BlueClaws lost their series finale to the Greensboro Grasshoppers 7-2, Wednesday at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, N.J.

Ricardo Pinto delivered his best start of the young season, striking out 10 batters over seven innings.

Calvin Rayburn entered the 2-2 game in the seventh inning for the BlueClaws. Rayburn gave up four runs, three earned in 1 ⅓ innings of work and took the loss.

Center fielder Carlos Tocci went 2-for-4 and designated hitter Tim Zier went 2-for-3 and scored a run for the BlueClaws.

Lakewood is in action again Thursday at the Hagerstown Suns. Left-hander Josh Taylor is scheduled to start the 6:35 p.m. game for the BlueClaws.
