Phanatic helping local youth soccer team get to national tournament

A local celeb, the Phillie Phanatic, is lending a hand to help a local youth soccer team get to Colorado to play national title. But they need your help too.

The U16 Boys MonU Celtic team won the ASL (Atlantic Soccer League) Championship held at the Bryan Soccer Complex in Greensboro, NC on June 22-24, 2013.

"Our team plays at the highest level of U16 soccer," said Paul Duddy, now in his 7th season as coach of the team. "We won playing some great teams from all over the East Coast. It's a credit to the boy's character and their talent that we now have a chance to compete for the national championship in Colorado."

With the win the team has qualified to play in the US Club National Cup XII which will be held July 18-21, 2013 in Aurora, CO.

A local celeb, the Phillie Phanatic, is lending a hand to help Duddy's team get to Colorado, but they need your help too.

On Saturday, July 13, a car wash is being held in conjunction with the Montgomery United SC walk-in registration at Kiddie Academy in North Wales. It will run from 9 a.m. - noon, and there will be an appearance by the Phanatic and a raffle to win Phillies tickets and autographed merchandise.

Here's the flyer for the event:

The Kiddie Academy is located at 1020 Horsham Road, North Wales, PA. For more information, contact team manager Connie McKenna (conmc2@comcast.net) or coach Paul Duddy (celticduds@aol.com).
