LeSean McCoy speaks briefly after alleged brawl

Last night, former Eagles running back LeSean McCoy spoke publicly for the first time since a bar fight early Sunday morning left two off-duty officers in the hospital .

In Philadelphia, fans are fixated on what will happen to former Eagles running back LeSean McCoy, who awaits possible charges for an alleged nightclub assault in Philadelphia against off-duty police officers.

Former Fanatic host Sean Brace, who runs the sports and culture blog PhillyInfluencer.com, caught up with McCoy last night outside Misconduct Tavern on JFK Boulevard.

Brace asked McCoy if he had a statement to his fans, telling the running back, "We heard their story; we're just trying to get your side."

The audio is garbled, but McCoy appears to say, "I made a mistake, but sooner or later I'll have my say." A member of McCoy's camp claimed to CSN Philly the running back actually said he'd "make a statement."

The Inquirer's Chris Palmer reports charges aren't expected to come down today against McCoy:

McCoy, along with three other people, face possible arrest warrants after a Sunday fight in the Recess Lounge on Second Street. According to police reports, the group assaulted three off-duty officers - including a sergeant - in a dispute over a bottle of champagne.

The fight left two officers, Darnell Jessie and Roland Butler, in the hospital with several injuries, including a broken nose, a broken rib, eye lacerations and a possible skull fracture.
