Joel Embiid recruits LeBron James to Philadelphia

Joel Embiid is still months away from suiting up for the Sixers and seeing some on-court action, but that isn't discouraging him from recruiting talent to his new team.

In a tweet directed at LeBron James on Tuesday afternoon, Embiid asked the four-time NBA MVP if he wanted to join the currently under-construction Sixers squad in Philadelphia.

@KingJames hey bro hope you're having a good day...... Want to join us in philly?? Peace

James, who is in ultimate "win now" mode, likely won't be taking his talents to the City of Brotherly Love, as the team lacks the strong supporting cast he is looking for. You have to applaud Embiid's effort though, and his politeness.

James recently opted out of his contract with the Miami Heat after four consecutive NBA Finals appearances, and he will be entertaining offers from several suitors throughout the early summer.

Although any scenario involving James signing with the Sixers is extremely unlikely, Philadelphia does have one factor working in their favor for the 2014-edition of the LeBron sweepstakes: the ability to sign him to a max-contract, which he is reportedly interested in.

Only six other teams - the Heat, Lakers, Jazz, Mavericks, Suns, and Magic - have the ability to offer James max money as currently constructed.

The Sixers have around $30 million in cap space, and this financial flexibility has become one of the organization's biggest assets. They will likely be shrewd in how it is spent, but something tells me that if LeBron was actually interested, the Sixers would be interested also.

At the very least it is nice to see Embiid being so proactive in helping to build the future of the franchise.
