IronPigs encourage fans to get closer to hideous beast

The IronPigs have long assumed that baseball alone isn't enough to get you to Coca-Cola Park in Allentown. No, it requires beach towel giveaways and video games you can play with your pee!

You're an odd bunch.

Anyway, the Phillies' Triple A affiliate is looking to attract yet another demographic - comic book fans.

Before watching Darin Ruf's bat get even hotter on June 27, the IronPigs will be hosting Comic Book Night in their fair city.

Zenescope Entertainment will have a squadron of their twisted fairy tale comics on hand, encouraging you to get your picture taken with Bigfoot - yes, that horrifying man beast over there, go put your arm around him - or heroines from their mainstay narratives like Robyn Hood or Grimm Fairy Tales.

A number of writers and artists will be on hand as well to field your questions on their ever-tightening grasp on the industry or minor league baseball.

At 41-36, the IronPigs are the bizarro-Phillies, and are currently competing in second place of the International League North division, so they offer a decent break from the blinding fury of another Phillies loss.

In fact, the Phillies minor league system may be your best bet to see any successful baseball at the moment.

The @crosscutters are the only team in the New York-Penn League with a current multiple-game win streak
