Whether the Phillies will buy or sell at the July trade deadline is an endless debate. But not too long ago, the Phillies' actions weren't so ambiguous; their record, not so symmetrical.

There was a time when the prospects flowed like wine, and we'd ship them out of town at the drop of an ace, or Hunter Pence. Fortunately, none of the prospects in question have come back to be All-Stars, or even MLB starters. Friday night, however, Jarred Cosart, the center piece of the deal that brought Pence to Philly, made his Major League debut.

Phillies fans, cover your eyes: Jarred Cosart has a no-hitter through six in his major-league debut, vs. TB, and only 69 pitches.

Here's the unbelievable catch by Brandon Barnes that preserved Cosart's no-hitter in the sixth: [Crawfish Boxes]

UPDATE, 8:54 p.m.: A line drive from buzzkill Ben Zobrist off the glove of Jose Altuve has ended Cosart's no-hit bid at six and a third. Zobrist was immediately nullified by a double play.

UPDATE, 9:36 P.M.: Cosart's final line for the evening: eight innings pitched, two hits, three walks, and a pair of K's.
