Millions of college kids across the country are preparing to receive - or already have received - their undergraduate degrees from their respective institutions. Now, a former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback will be joining the 2013 graduating class as they look for full-time jobs.

Vince Young, who played one season with the Eagles but will more likely be remembered by fans for his "Dream Team" comment during 2011 training camp, participated in the University of Texas’ commencement ceremony on Friday.

Young won a national title for the Longhorns in 2006, but he says getting his degree in Youth and Community Studies is more special than that.

"This will rank No. 1 because it is what I came to school for," Young told CBSSports.com Thursday. "I came here to get an education, and to win a national championship. And now, I get to put that smile on my mom's face."

Leaving school to pursue a career in football seemed like the right choice as he was drafted by the Tennessee Titans third overall in the 2006 NFL Draft. Young found success early on with the Titans, but was then cut by the team in 2011. Following his release from the Titans, he went on to sign a one-year contract with the Eagles, but was not re-signed.

Young’s career in the NFL is pretty non-existent right now, but he still is holding out hope that a team will call him with an offer. The time away from football has been a good thing, however, as it has allowed him to finally finish his education, opening job opportunities beyond football player, football coach, and football analyst/broadcast.

So congratulations go out to Young for earning his degree. Good luck out in the real world.
