Former Eagle Jeremiah Trotter rips Andy Reid's coaching abilities

On the whole, was Andy Reid a plus or a minus for the Birds?
He was a plus -- Nine playoffs are nothing to sneeze at.
He was a minus – Zero parades. ‘Nuff said.
I’m conflicted -- Wish he’d actually done a better job.

On Thursday, as part of Mike Missanelli’s Football Roundtable on 97.5 The Fanatic, former Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter called out ex-coach Andy Reid over his in-game coaching abilities, saying that he was often out-coached in big games.

"If it came down to both teams were even, talent-wise, I think the opponent's team would win if it came down to coaching," Trotter told Missanelli and ESPN's Sal Paolantonio.

"Andy Reid got out-coached in a lot of games, man, a lot of big games," Trotter continued. "Time outs, running the football, you know."

His play-calling decisions also affected the psyche of the defensive players and coaches, according to Trotter.

"As a defense, we understood we passed the ball too much. You know, there's times we're sitting over there like, 'Man, listen. Just get us a couple of first downs so we can get a break.' And I'm sure it frustrated Jim Johnson also."

Trotter spent a total of eight seasons with the Eagles (1998-2001; 2004-2006; 2009), seven of them under Reid, including all four of his Pro-Bowl seasons and both of his All-Pro years.

Trotter also spent time with the Washington Redskins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, so he understands the landscape of the NFL.

So how does the 11-year-vet-turned-radio-host rate Reid as head coach?

"On a scale of one to 10, 10 being great, I give [Reid] a seven and a half or eight as a coach."

Who would be a 10? According to Trotter, that's Patriot's coach Bill Belicheck.

Typical Reid lap dog. Why don't you move to Kansas City so you can cheer on your boy at his new home?

Reid sucked in big games, get over it.

Your points about Trotter are not convincing or interesting.

The huge holes in the Eagles roster were Reid's fault,
    get real man.

How is stating the obvious and giving him an 8 out of 10 ripping him?

I couldn't agree more. Another headline grab by the paper. Though you would think how everyone regard Trotter as a leader, he may have spoke up when he was playing for him.

He wasn't saying that when Andy let him go to the redskins so he could collect his $35 million AND THEN CAME BACK!

#1 - Think Trotter is the first former Eagle not to drink the Kool Aid and to rip the Big Stink #2 Andy will forever be an average coach and rotten person

He may be an average coach but he is cer5tainly not a rotten person. What has he ever done to hurt anyone in fact one of his faults is trying to protect his players. A questionable father and family man I will give you that but by no means a rotten person. If you want the meaning of Rotten person look at the QB..Vick is beyond a rotten human being because of the hideous things he has done.

how ar trott's comments "ripping" AR? he did pass too much. he was completely incapable of managing the clock/timeouts. he was too stubborn or dumb to make half-time adjustments.

this is the half-time convo with mornhinweg. if the the run isn't working, pass more. if the pass isn't working, pass more until it does. or as these dopes like to call it, be "agressive"

KC should have asked Andy who he'd draft first, could've saved them 8 hours and 45 minutes of interview time. He's all yours KC good luck coming back from the cellar.

Ranking someone 7.5-8 out of 10 isn't ripping them.
