First look at Philadelphia Eagles Angry Birds game

POSTED: Tuesday, August 28, 2012, 11:39 AM

Back in June, the Eagles announced that they were teaming up with Rovio, makers of Angry Birds, in a marketing partnership.

Now, we have some more information, including a first-look at the new version of one of the most popular game apps in the world.

The game will launch on September 4, and will include 16 levels, and a new one will be released each week during the 2012-13 season.

The team will also be hosting a launch party:

In conjunction with the launch of the Facebook game, the Eagles will be hosting a Back to Football event at Love Park in Philadelphia on September 4 that will include players, cheerleaders, SWOOP and a real life version of the Angry Birds game, inspired by K’NEX. The event is free and open to the public. More details to come at a later date.

Here's a peak at what the game will look like:

thought I saw an angry bird with a midnight green #7 jersey fly into a pig, get hurt, then was out for the rest of the game...

There's a #5 angry bird puking up some Cambells Chunky Soup! But he looks up and smiles like nothing happened afterward.

Im going to steal some of the better comments from deadspin....

"The Andy Reid board looks pretty tough to beat, but all you have to do is wait for time to almost run out, and it collapses on its own."

"Unfortunately, the Mighty Philadelphia Eagle never seems to show up for the final level."

Don't remember whom to credit for initially saying this, but it's worth repeating: "The McNabb angry bird automatically fires straight into the ground in front of the target no matter where you aim it."
