ESPN's "Draft Expert" Mel Kiper Jr. has the Philadelphia Eagles taking West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith with the third pick in the second round of the NFL Draft.
He has the Jaguars selecting USC's Matt Barkley with the 33rd pick, Zach Ertz (TE, Stanford) going to the 49ers at 34, and then the Eagles taking Smith 35th overall.
Meanwhile, ESPN's real football expert, Adam Schefter, reports the New York Jets trying to move up from the 39th spot. Furthermore, Schefter says the Jets debated taking Smith with the 13th pick in the first round. The Lions are shopping the 36th pick, according to Jason LaCanfora of CBSSports, but if things play out as Kiper predicts, Smith will be gone by then.
If they really want Smith, the Jets may try to trade with the Jaguars, who are looking to deal the 33rd pick (1st in second round), according to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.
