The Eagles' 33-27 victory over the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football impressed a lot of people, including the producers of ESPN’s NFL power rankings it seems.
The latest edition of the power rankings was released on Tuesday morning, and it featured the Eagles taking the largest leap out of any team in the league. The Birds, who found themselves sitting at 25th overall before the regular season started, are now the NFL’s 14th-best team according to ESPN.
The Worldwide Leader was impressed with Michael Vick’s effectiveness at the read option, stating simply:
“Michael Vick was an effective caretaker of the read-option Monday, running 41 zone-read rushes. Philly's 245 zone-read rush yards were the most in a game in the past five years.”
