Donovan McNabb rips Eagles over DeMarco Murray situation

Fresh off his release from jail and currently on house arrest, former Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb is already back on Twitter, and he's unhappy about the DeMarco Murray situation.

During the Eagles' 40-17 loss Sunday night to the Arizona Cardinals, McNabb voiced his displeasure on social media about the way the team is using Murray:

Considering McNabb just spent the last 18 days in jail, he probably isn't the ideal person to pass judgment on anyone. But that doesn't mean he's wrong.

Murray had just two rushing attempts all night, both in the third quarter. Sam Bradford outgained him in rushing yards, and Murray spent much of the game on the sideline wearing a ski cap (photo by staff photographer Yong Kim):

The Eagles signed Murray to a 5-year, $40 million contract, $22 million of it guaranteed. As David Murphy pointed out, Murray will carry an $8 million cap hit next year, making it unlikely the Eagles cut him or are able to trade him (plus, the Eagles would still be hit $4 million if they found a trade partner).

So it's likely Murray will be back with the Eagles next season. It's up to Chip Kelly to figure out how to use him, or he'll be occupying an expensive place on the bench.
