Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson stopped by ESPN's First Take on Wednesday morning and discussed the team's quarterback competition and, after a brief hesitation, predicted Michael Vick will be the starting quarterback when camp opens.

“In my opinion, honestly, I don’t want to be put on the spot, I know y’all gonna do me like that, but Michael Vick’s got a lot of confidence in himself," Jackson said. "He’s been there, going on 12 years in the NFL, I think he’ll get the job."

The 5-foot-10 receiver went on to say that "Nick Foles is a great, great talent... he has the hype, he has the skills as well too." Jackson thinks Vick will "probably be the starter" going into camp, but he admitted that the players still don't know for sure who will be the starting quarterback.

"I think Chip Kelly’s gonna keep everybody honest and keep everybody open,” he said.

Jackson was also asked about how the Eagles will put last year's struggles behind them and referred to their 4-12 season as a "reality check for everybody."

“All I can remember is coming in in 2008, the Philadelphia Eagles, Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook, Brian Dawkins. With that mentality there, them guys didn’t really accept nothing but winning," he said. "Michael Vick, myself, [LeSean] McCoy, [Jeremy] Maclin, I mean, we really had to look each other in the eye [after last season] and say, ‘Come on, we’re better than that.’"

Jackson, a former second-round draft pick, insisted that the Eagles "can’t really look backwards," and that "we’re going to move forward this year."

He also praised Chip Kelly's "great" and "high-tempo offense," and promised that the Eagles are "going to catch a lot of teams off guard this year."

Eagles training camp opens July 22 when rookies report to the NovaCare Complex. The full team reports on July 25.
