Colin Cowherd: Chip Kelly is the NFL equivalent of Uber

During the first month of the season, Eagles coach Chip Kelly received the lion's share of criticism from sports analysts after the team's disappointing 1-3 start.

Buzz Bissinger called Kelly "arrogant" and said he was "a fraud" who deserved to be fired. Mark Schlereth said Kelly's offense hasn't worked at either the college or pro level, and ripped his offensive-line schemes as "Pop Warner." Brian Billick called the team a "power keg" ready to explode.

Man, what a difference a couple of games makes.

Now that the Eagles have won two straight, including a 20-point, Monday night win over the Giants to put them in first place, media personalities can't line up fast enough to defend Kelly's unique coaching style.

The latest is Fox sports radio host Colin Cowherd, who made the argument on his radio show that Kelly's coaching has improved and transformed the Eagles more than any other team in the league.

"Name an NFL team that has improved more than Philadelphia in the last month," said Cowherd, who noted it was just five weeks ago that the Eagles were a national laughingstock. "There's not an NFL team that looked so bad five weeks ago and now can win their division."

Later in his show, Cowherd returned to the subject of the Eagles, defending Kelly against detractors in the league who he claimed are always leery of disruption, and have criticized his offense as a college system.

"He is what Netflix has done to television and movies. He is what Uber did to the taxi company," Cowherd said. "You critics — this guy is absolutely fantastic. No team in this league has been coached up in the last month more than Philadelphia"

This new-found love for Kelly reminds me of a cartoon I drew about him a couple years back:
