The Citi Field reception for Chase Utley was not warm

After appealing his 2-game suspension, Dodgers second baseman Chase Utley appeared on the field during player introductions before Game 3 of the National League Division Series against the Mets.

After appealing his two-game suspension for a vicious slide that injured Mets infielder Ruben Tejada, Dodgers second baseman Chase Utley appeared on the field during player introductions before Game 3 of the National League Division Series against the Mets.

The reaction of the Mets crowd to Utley's introduction was predictably negative.

This isn't the first time the second baseman has gotten a negative welcome by a New York crowd. Before the 2008 All-Star Game, Utley was drowned by boos from the Yankees Stadium crowd, leading to his now-famous NSFW reaction being broadcast on live television.

This time around, the hatred toward Utley seems more intense. One angry Mets fans even went so far as to call the six-time all-star a terrorist sympathizer.

More surprising was the reaction to shortstop Jimmy Rollins, another former Phillies star, during his first at-bat of the game.

Earlier in the day, noted Cowboys-Mets fan Chris Christie weighed in on Utley's slide on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," calling the second baseman a "dog".
