Asante Samuel takes a shot at Reid over Castillo firing

Former Eagles cornerback Asante Samuel, now playing for the 6-0 Falcons, took to Twitter to offer his opinion of Andy Reid firing defensive coordinator Juan Castillo.
Samuel, never at a loss for words, will face his former team next Sunday when the Eagles travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons.
Sometimes you have to blame yourself. You can't try and always point the figure at someone else

Hopefully the O-line will give Vick time enough to hit the wide open WR Samuel is covering when he bites on the double moves. dlivesay

I'm guessing someone asked him for a reaction to the Castillo firing or Nnamdi's comments but why do athletes ALWAYS feel the need to respond when asked about a former teammate or team. Doesn't "no comment" or "I don't play there any more I don't care what goes on in their place" work any more? bigcityballer
Vick has sucked but the offensive play calling is constantly putting him in a bad position. I thought the "west coast" offense was quick hitting slants & screens, but the Birds don't seem to do much of that any more (I can see why with the screens as they suck at it). The point is if Foles were back there & the game plan remained the same he'd end up mained as well. Mike in LA
Asante has no room to talk... he has always been about his numbers and not the team. When he learns how to tackle then maybe we'll listen...until then I say "shut up Asante... you never were good enough to be an Eagle!!!" jmac21915
I don't like the idea of Bowles as head coach. He's a guy who Andy brought here. If there are no playoffs this year it's time for a complete break from the Andy Reid era. Let's get a new coach from outside the organization who has some fire not a re-tread like Gruden, Dungy, Cowher, Holmgren. Wipe the slate clean, starting over can't be as miserable as heading further down this dead-end street. bentlip
If the west-coast offense were a religion, Marty and Andy would be heretics. They employ a system that bears nearly no resemblance to the original template. The west coast as envisioned by Bill Walsh did not throw the deep ball nearly as often as these guys. The west coast used running backs much more too, they used Roger Craig and Tom Rathman in both the run and pass games. Quick slants, draws, screens are the mainstay of the real west coast offense. Additionally, the west coast offense was accompanied by a stout defense which produced turnovers. What Andy has put in place here is nothing much like the template and yet he wonders why it doesn't work like it did in San Francisco. bentlip
Oh come on, Asante...You know that Andy Reid always says in his post loss press conferences that "It all starts with the coaching" and "I've got to do a better job" and all of that malarkey. So Andy is already blaming himself. Problem is, although he keeps saying that it will get fixed....it never does. SteveS11
Why wouldn't you put Foles in? With a bad o-line you need to do three step drops, something Foles can do as a pocked passer that Mike Vick has no clue how to do. Vick's game is all about verticle passing. I'd rather have a 6'5 QB who played behind an awful o-line in Arizona, then Vick at this point. ryanrockzzz
STF up already Asante. Birds will kill the loser Falcons. Jimmy Two Times
