Bernard Pierce had an opportunity to put the rumors to rest about his destire to apply for the upcoming NFL draft.  The Temple junior tailback chose not to.

He was asked after Friday's regular-season finale if this was his final game as an Owl at Lincoln Financial Field.

"I'm going to take it one step at a time," he said following his team's 34-16 victory over Kent State. "I really don't have any comment on that."

Pierce has rushed for 1,381 yards and school-record 25 touchdowns this season.

Hopefully he'll be back, but let's just be glad he's healthy for a bowl game. And let's hope Coyer can come back from his injury. We'll need both of them to win. Go Owls

RB's that are oft injured in college generally have short NFL careers. Pierce is a nice back, but he still needs to demonstrate more durability.

RB's careers are short anyway; if he can be a 1st or 2nd round pick, he should go.

I think right now he would be more of a late 2nd or a 3rd round pick. You have a healthy freshman year, injured sophmore year, a goo but dinged up junior year. I think another year like this year, healthy would put him in a first round position.

He's awesome and has taken a pounding the last 3 years. I hope he has a stellar bowl game performance, comes out, and is picked in the second or third round. First rounders get more attention and pressure, but he would be "instant running game" for any NFL team.
